Violinist Philippe Quint stopped by the Strings studio with the 1708 “Ruby” Stradivari violin to perform three pieces. Watch Quint perform Camille Saint Saens’ “Mon cœur s’ouvre à ta voix” from Samson and Delilah; Joachim Raff’s Cavatina No. 3; and George Gershwin’s “It Ain’t Necessarily So” from Porgy and Bess (arranged by Jascha Heifetz). Quint recorded all three pieces with pianist Lily Maisky, daughter of cellist Mischa Maisky, on the duo’s 2013 release Opera Breve.

Dear channel manager/magazine staff, First, thanks for having this beautiful instrument played by this phenomenal artist! That said, while I fully support having ads, I truly wish you would mark the spots for them to be inserted, not have a beautiful long line in a passage intruded upon by advertisements. Nothing quite breaks the experience like having a movie promo and squarespace advert thrown in the middle of it. It really does detract and make me want to go to a private tab, defeating the purpose of ads at all. I know this is an old clip, but it is still so lovely.

Why do people breath. It's so annoying. I wanna just hear the violin. Makes wierd mouth sounds. Its irritating. I play without wierd emotional breathing. It makes the ruby look bad
