Kirstie Alley dies at 71 after cancer diagnosis

"We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered," her children announced on Monday. She was 71 years old.

I remember first seeing Kirstie in "It Takes Two" with the Olsen twins. She had such a great wit and comedic timing that made me love her instantly. One of my favourite movies from my childhood. It hurts that we must now speak of her in past tense. This is a real shock.
