A new scheme now allows selected firms in Singapore to hire more foreign workers. It's for businesses that help the country advance its key economic priorities. The move comes as foreign worker quotas in certain sectors will be reduced from next year. Under the Manpower for Strategic Economic Priorities (MSEP) scheme, the S Pass and Work Permit quotas of selected firms will be expanded by up to 5% of their base workforce. This will be capped at 50 workers. The additional quotas will be valid for two years, and may be renewed after.

In 2021, I lost all trust in them;
Sacrifice Life, Sacrifice Jobs;
Elderly were relegated to make shift facilities;
Home Recovery instead of proper hospital care and despite the highly infectious variants.
Goes to show why these days, Trust Cannot be Simply Granted.

How many of those companies of ST Technologies can survive for another 10 years?
This is the kind of question the Great Asia asks.

What kind of questions the manpower minster always asked?
How many cheap foreign labours do you need to run your vehicles rental, properties rental and warehousing businesses?

You can see the gap here?
Ha ha ha!

The Question then is: How does this reinforce the intention and purpose of the "Policy" to Control the number of foreign workers through the existing “pricing mechanism” by collecting foreign workers "Levies"?

He meant Singaporeans are too expensive for his company to hire. Because his company is not involved in high-tech industry. So his company needs a lot of cheap foreign labours to run this 20th century rental businesses.

The more foreign workers, the merrier the collection of levies. After all, these foreign workers' levies unlike CPF, are non-refunable.

The other half is less obvious but more telling: Singaporeans simply DO NOT WANT change or reform badly enough to risk any inconveniences to their jobs, their families and their lives.

Chee Soon Juan is wrong. Democracy is not for everyone, and not everyone wants democracy. Some societies and cultures, such as the Arab nations, eventually fall back to a default authoritarian mode, despite the promises of Arab Spring uprisings.

After 57 years of uninterrupted one-party rule, I’m afraid Singapore has become such a country.
