this video was done in good fun and spirits but if you were wondering why i don't bother with my MBTI type, this is why.

My money's on both. On the one hand, the MBTI test results reek strongly of the Forer effect, which is the same thing that horoscopes and fortune tellers use, and the test is unlikely to be any more accurate than your average "Which MCU/Danganronpa/Game of Thrones/My Hero Academia/etc. character are you?" test. On the other hand, the 'you' the internet knows is only what you're showing the public, intentionally or otherwise, and is nowhere near a complete picture of who you are, but people on the internet often have trouble acknowledging parasocial relationships for what they are, so they think they see the 'real' you.

The 16 personalities test frequently mistypes people, though it is good for narrowing down what type you may be.There was also a limited amount of votes, so there wasn’t much to go off of, but it is a bit surprising that they mistyped you that much considering how different these two types are.

16personalities isn't an actual reliable way of typing because the test doesn't care about the actual theory, they just took the letters of the types and used them for their own crappy system.
The website for voting the types and the community in general are based on the actual theory of cognitive functions, there are 8 functions: Perceptive functions, Ne, Se, Ni, Si, which are the ones that are based on the collection of information and percepting the world, and Judging functions, Fi, Fe, Ti, Te, which are the one that are based on analising and judging information.
The theory goes even further, with each function having its own description and the fact that each type has 4 main functions (for example, ENTJ is Te-Ni-Se-Fi while INFP is Fi-Ne-Si-Te).

i took the test and got intp, switched schools, and made a friend who's been hyperfixating on this stuff for years (she's rlly fun to listen to), and a while after i told her what the test said, she said "yup, intp", she's determined the personality types of almost everyone in our class by now (she's also a new student)

I personally use the cognitive functions to type myself, because what I got from the 16p test was just that my dominant function is Ni. But yeah these people literally have nothing to do

The 16 personality website is probably the worst place to go. It constantly mistypes people and hands anyone INFJ when that's supposed to be the most rarest type lol. There are other more accurate websites out there but I just don't currently have them on me. Once you study the cognitive functions, you'll gain a better understanding on type and how to type yourself because thats what mbti was originally based on, not this lettering crap that people focus on a surface level and forget about the functions

Oh yeah, I'd like to mention that 16personalities doesn't use actual MBTI theory, and on PDB, characters and people mostly get typed by the actual MBTI theory which 16personalities doesn't use

I quite like the MBTI system - although I know it’s all bullshit and you can’t really categorise people into 16 types there are some similarities which is really cool - I don’t think we should decide famous people’s mbti though since. We don’t know them, we know what they’re presenting.
