This stream made me know a lot more about Ina, that she's much, much more than a kawaii vtuber with insane art skills. She's really a wholesome person deserving all the love around the world.

The things she shared about pursuing art are relatable and inspiring. She is humble. She speaks with a lot of wisdom. Her concentration on her work when she sped up the drawing is amazing. She always cared about other holo members and kept reminding us to support them. And of course, her art class was very educational.

Now I'm feeling that Ina is someone I can really look up to and constantly learn from. Ina's stream is definitely relaxing and entertaining, but we all can get more from it and grow together with her.

Been a pixel artist for games for like 12 years, but you've convinced me to try my hand again at proper art. Never been able to draw properly with my hands (coordination issues), but I might be good enough with a mouse at this point that that might not matter. Inktober, here I come.

Ina's art tips have really helped me, digital drawing was super weird when I first tried it but I decided to give it another shot after hearing her talk about it. It takes some getting used to but I think im gonna stick with it for a bit to see if I can get used to it

Summary and my interpretation of Ina’s Wise Art Tips!

1. There are no strict rules. Art is about finding what you love to do and doing it!

This idea of artistic freedom and enjoying yourself being what’s most important, is a common theme found throughout the stream that I'll be coming back to a few times.

2. Brakes are important!

If your drawing somehow just doesn't look right, or you're struggling a bit, it’s good to leave it for a while and come back later. Coming back with a fresh eye when you find yourself stuck is one of the best things you can do!

3. Explore! Don’t Limit yourself!

This is a huge one. You don’t always have to be limited to looking at one type of art for learning technique or for inspiration. One of the best ways to develop as an artist is to take inspiration from as many different people as you can.

You can learn a lot by seeing how different people with various styles, industries, and techniques, use the same tools differently.

4. It’s “ Good to be hungry for knowledge.”

Relating to the previous tip, Ina talks more about this when she mentions analyzing what sort of layer mode artists you admire might have used to create an effect, then try to recreate it yourself.

This helps build your own “mental library” of different processes to choose from to help you get whatever desired effect you are aiming to achieve. It applies not just to layer modes but all techniques and ways artists achieve the cool things you see them do. Taking the time to make a mental (or literal) note of techniques you like in an artist’s work is a great way to grow.

5. You often find your style by NOT actively thinking about it.

Building again upon the previous tip, Ina suggests an artist’s style is just the byproduct of an artist who is willing to try new things to find what they like, what they don’t like, and what they enjoy featuring in their work.

Don’t aim for a certain style but aim instead to be open minded and search to find the things you truly love. From there, your style will organically form as you continually learn and apply what aspects of your art you are most passionate about and what you enjoy expressing the most.

This tip in particular relied heavily on my interpretation so take it with a drop of ink, but this is the message I felt Ina was trying to get across at around 29:00

This is also why studying fundamentals like composition and anatomy is useful even for more stylised work. It’s difficult to deform without first having a good grasp of form.

7. Don’t be afraid to do what makes you comfortable and to embrace what’s fun! This cicles back to the very first tip!

As long as you know which layer does what, the amount of layers isn't too important beyond what your PC can handle. As long as you are comfortable with your work flow the specifics don’t matter.

Additionally, if you can't imagine it in your head it helps to have/ make a visual guide on paper.

Again, don't be afraid to do what works even if it's not what you consider “conventional.” Just make sure that you do try various things so that you can find what actually works best for you instead of settling for what you think works best.

Conclusions....There are no strict rules. Art is about what you want to do.

While it can be immensely valuable, you don’t always need to challenge yourself. Keep it easy sometimes and draw what you like to daw. “Fun is the most important ingredient.”

Don't just choose to do art you love the final product of but also art you actually love the process of creating.

As an artist most of our time is spent creating. If you can't enjoy that process, finding the motivation to continue can be difficult if all you enjoy is the final product.

The stream is full of many more wonderful tips and pieces of advice but I hope the ones I’ve highlighted here were helpful!
