For point E, I don't understand the explanation. All I heard was "I selected this direction of these three forces like this, " what does this mean? How can you just select the direction of forces?

Thank you so much! Do you think you could explain 6-42 please? I'm looking at some solutions and some methods some people use for that one but all my equations end up in Tension, when I do it, instead of Compression and I'm not sure how and why that is.

If you could also explain 7-8 and 7-13 from this book when you have time I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you for this channel!

I thought it will be a compression force when the force is negative. I don't understand the explanation of Tension and compression
