2D Animation Tutorial - Creating a VFX Sprite Sheet with Flash

Here's a cool trick on how to make sprite sheets (aka Flipbooks) for use in a game engine. jkFX Tutorial #8

Tip: Shift + click to select multiple frames.
*note - selecting multiple frames can be tricky. if a frame is already highlighted, and you click and drag it, you'll move it. To click/drag a selection of frames, make sure you click in the empty space first to deselect the frame. Or, you can Shift + click on the last frame you want to grab a large selection.

I used to export the sprite as a png sequence and then put them all together in illustrator. I now see that that is not a very productive way of doing things :P Thanks!

Hi Jason, if i has a question about the sprite sheet background for VFX, when should I use Black and when to use transparent?

How do you do this if there are more frames in the sequence? I need to do this for a running character but it’s 13 frames long

I cant seem to get the symbol to ever match the size of the bounding box, so when I set the sheet of symbols I end up with alot of wasted space in padding.
