'You don't get a bitch pass because you're old'. Having worked with the 'general public' I've said something similar a couple of times. The 'funniest' one was a property manager from abroad, trying to get access to office after hours to get a laptop, while drunk and with 3 other drunk people.
He started the 'do you know who I am' thing, and I said 'yes.. do you know where you are?'
The office he worked from in San Francisco was a 24 hour place, the office in Dublin was not.
