Next time you're in China, look out for Hui restaurants. The Hui are basically the same as the Han, except they've been Muslim long enough to develop a separate identity. Their food is halal, and it's popular among the Han, too. I think you'll still have a hard time finding dumplings, but look out for "清真" which is the hanzi for halal.

Ive made this before with beef, it tastes great!! There are many in-depth tutorials out there if you need it. They freeze well, too.

Omg too many steps! I’m uyghur and I’m telling you all you need to do is flatten out a ball of dough straight from the mixing bowl after it’s risen and stuff and shape it then place it directly in the steamer no need for the second rise!!

If you ever visit China, you can find lots of halal options in Hui restaurants (清真) the Hui are similar to the Han but they’ve developped a pretty distinct identity since they’ve been Muslims for a really long time. These types of buns are usually just called zheng1bao1 蒸包(name varying depending on location and dialect), and they’ve existed for a long time in China. So yea, lots of options once a food has been made for a long time in a country. Im ad you found these in Japan & is now making them for yourself!! They look scrumptious and well-folded too 😋

Finally a channel that doesn't purposely make something wrong to get attention. There are way to much and most of there interaction are just people calling out their actions/favoritism against or toward countires and their food

Sounds fabulous. I would try a vegetable version if possible. No animal ingredients. 😊

This looks good!
Also that reminds me, I remember eating vegetarian steamed buns at Din Tai Fung that are filled with diced mushrooms and greens. It tastes great and now I miss them

I used to make these very frequently. So delicious 😋

For the filling i'd use a mix of beef and cabbage and it'd work out great
