My tree is public because helping my adopted DNA relatives find info on their birth families was one of the most satisfying experiences of my life.

This video doesn't actually explain how privacy is managed. Very vague.

Not mentioning the basics: How does ancestry.com ensure that DNA profile is not linked to my name, personal identifying info and or payment method?

I keep a public tree. I'm part of the last of my dying family. After me and a few young cousins, that's it. So family finding becomes more of a priority than a little privacy. Don't get me wrong, be private if you need to. Just think about those dna matches though.

Agree with texxs01 -- this video would be more helpful if it detailed how you keep our data secure and how we're able to control it. For example, are we able to delete every bit of it from your servers if we choose to? Do you ever share any part of it with outside parties or vendors you work with? Do you ever use any of our data to market to us? This video tells us we should trust you, but you don't prove it by explaining how exactly you protect our data or how we can control it.

Once you give them your DNA, you can never, ever delete that. They have it forever. If the police come with a search warrant, they have to give it up.
