I'm 68...NEVER call it quits. Screw retirement, it's a brain wash by financial companies. I have 2 full time businesses, stay very active...not waiting to die.

So glad I found your channel!!
Age 65 and retiring in July. I was doing TRT in mid 50's until prostate cancer put a stop to it. Went for surgery and did not stop working once healed up. I work highly active remote construction projects that keep me walking hilly terrain daily. Work out in a small gym doing full body workouts to overall tone, but I must admit, I miss the bro splits! Stopped drinking and engaged to a Filipina who does not drink, nor does her entire family. The age around 63- 64 was my aging experience and had to up my game with supplementation, more intermittent fasting and more core movements and more rest, but am crushing it (or at least I think I am).
Love your frank discussions, You have a new sub!

I came here at 67 and I am working on 3 years. Your video has made me feel very lucky, I like you, started taking better care of myself, weight, gym, hair color, hair cut and a lot of walking. I also think young and enjoy the young scene in Pattaya. My girlfriend is 40 years younger than me and she has been a joy and of course it is a transactional relationship, one that I can easily afford. I attribute my health to being in the military for 40 years, and I quit drinking and smoking at age 30. Though I have slowed down, I am still feeling great. You have made my transition, soooo much easier. Thank you.

Dr. Robb. You give us retirees hope & guidance for starting a new life in Thailand. Your mental & physical strength inspires us. I'm imagining a recliner in the library with easy access to cigars & bourbon & a feeling of contentment🙏

I’m 63, I recently went to a funeral and saw people who had not seen me since i was 56. Everyone said, “OMG!!! You look fantastic!!! You look so much younger!!!” I had lost 73 lbs and gotten off of 9 medications (2 were for Alzheimer’s). I started eating a Keto diet, ate a 2, 000 calorie meal over 4 hours, fasted 20 hours a day and walked 8 miles every other day. 3 years 5 months and 8 days later I’m still living this lifestyle.

Great stuff, Robb! I recall that GM executive study. Believe it concluded early death due to cummulative stress. Worse stress is a situation with high expectations with limited control (aka most large organizations). Keep enjoying each day!

Long term exercise is the key, keep fit, keep moving, walk, swim, gentle weights, these are what I do and at my full annual check-up I'm doing fine, a little overweight is all. Keep active and keep healthy seems to be the key. Have a great day Rob. :)

I’ve become fascinated with the psychology and experience of ageing and retirement. It’s partly why I enjoy your channel and hearing your own experiences. I think like you that 60 is a gateway, and how you pass through and beyond that determines how much you enjoy the next 25 years….. I’m a member of the U3A (University of the Third Age) for professional active retirees. It’s a cliche to say you only have the one body so take care of it and don’t treat your stomach like a dustbin! Great video as ever Rob.

Getting ready to retire, at 59 and been a long time subscriber. This is probably my favorite video, and inspiring as hell 💪🏼It sucks getting up at 5am to go to the gym...and you just reminded me of why. Thank You Rob!

Always enjoy your frank and down to earth videos! Glad you're on the mend my friend! I would agree, I think I'm hitting that "60 year old" aging transformation a year earlier, because at 59, my God I feel some significant things happening! We'll see how I handle it! Wish you and your family the best, you deserve it!

Very much appreciate the video, there is hope for all of us men heading into retirement. I’m planning to move to the East with my Filipina wife after a brutal divorce 10 years ago. I still aspire for better times, lifestyle and prosperity and your videos give me genuine confidence in that future.

I use Mike Mentzer's program of high intensity or HIT. He was the only man to score a perfect score Mr Olympia. I just turned 69 years old and in the best shape of my life. You know what they say about creating diamonds. It takes pressure.

Back in my misspent youth I worked in the same office with 2 other guys, one about my age, the other about 15 years older, say 60.
The younger guy moved on. I saw him again a few years later (us both around 50) and his hair had also gone white, he'd gained 60 pounds, and looked as though he was about to keel over.
The older guy took a year off for cancer treatment and came back shrunken and white haired (well yeah, cancer), but died suddenly at 62 of a stroke while on a walking machine.

Moral of the story IME is that one really needs to retire as soon as humanly possible; the whole dealy of dying soon after retirement is real. Not to mention that a lot of men have trouble figuring out what they're going to do once they DO retire, and can go all to pieces. Not sure where I heard it, but, it's a lot better to retire TO something, than retire FROM something.

I've found that to be true a lot myself, having early retired to take care of my father (for 6 years), whose passing (at 85) was 'surprising but not unexpected'. Now I'm like, wtf do I do? These videos help me a lot to frame my own way forward (if only for food for thought) that there is in fact life after 60.

“Extreme Aging” is a good term and you’re right, you do have to fight it. I’ve worked out all my life so physically it’s not as challenging to stay “healthy” but at 65 yrs old I think the challenges are mentally. I try not to spend too much time going “back down memory lane” and replaying events of the past, the “what if’s”, regrets, etc., and just live in the now. I think that’s harder than doing 10 pull-ups (assisted) 😊.

activity (physical & mental), diet and sleep are so important and more so as we age. I am not so worried about my lifespan, since we don't know our expiration date. But I do care about my healthspan - which for me is about being active as long as possible. I do not want to be incarcerated in some old folks home for the last years of my life. that is my greatest fear. I would rather crawl into the wilderness and die. Also retiring 'TO' something vs retiring 'from' something is a very important mindset to have. I retired 5 years ago @ 53 and it took me a solid year to transition to retirement. I have zero regrets and think everyone should retire as early as possible. Time is our most precious resource.

This is probably one of your best videos Rob. Almost everything you said resonates. Great to call it out.

72 this summer. Got to keep moving. Gardening work is best. I'm a cyclist and have done some light cycling for 4 months in Bangkok. Looking to live there, but I will say to all, it is not a "dream land". The country is expensive. About $1600 a month around Bangkok can be fine. Thanks Rob.

You have put more intelligent thought into your health than the majority of Americans. I aspire to improve my habits over the years. Need to abandon fast food!
