I invited my friends over for a brunch get together and here’s what I made 🥞

homemade brioche loaf for french toast —
I can’t stress enough how much better homemade bread tastes. I got into bread making during lockdown and it’s one of my favorite relaxing activities :) The french toast batter was made with extra yolks, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, maple syrup and a pinch of salt.

congee + soft boiled egg —
The trick to a really quick congee is to use frozen rice. This allows the rice to break down much faster and you’ll have congee ready in just about 20 minutes. I also used a homemade bone broth base that was simmered for about 4 hours.

extras to fill out the brunch board —
My vision was to create an aesthetic brunch board, so I added bagels, croissants, cheese, prosciutto, tomatoes, lox and fresh berries.
