It's best to move your head off of the line when you are transferring your weight from the front foot to the back foot as you throw the left hook. Therefore, you're transferring your weight properly for technical purposes/power and incorporating an extra layer of defense at the same time with your head off of the centerline. Hope that makes sense.

In joe Louis book how to box he told to throw right legged left hook where u transfer weight from left leg to right leg. Dempsey seemed to do the same .but both the Frazier or Louis did produced great kos .tq Tim for the lessons..
