🇬🇧 Tech-enabled Network of Teams

When in 2013 we were faced with the challenge of maintaining an Agile culture as we started scaling, we realised the Agile Manifesto did not provide enough guidance. So we went on a journey to understand what underpinned organisations that had successfully scaled while keeping bureaucracy at low levels. We discovered that most of them had been influenced by Lean Thinking.

But we also discovered that tech companies who had adopted Lean Thinking principles, had brought their own innovations. They were able to better maintain the autonomy of teams as the organisation scaled to hundreds of them, by leveraging collaboration technology to created a distributed network of empowered teams.

Based on the stories of Linux, Amazon, Tesla, General McChrystal and our own experience at Theodo, I will present what these innovations are and what organisations can do to become more of a tech-enabled network of teams.
