Quick Spin: Getting dirty with the 2017 Audi Allroad

Here's a quick look at the new 2017 Audi Allroad. It's our German friends longroof answer to the crossover question.

Here for the new model year, Audi has swapped in a revised 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine, which is now good for 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

The ride height is slightly raised.
There's underbody protection.
Throw in more aggressive tires and some mud flaps and we've got a $53,000 ($44,000 base price) trail runner.

Yes, we didn't venture out into the deeper parts of the trail but I know that we could've. How? You're going to have to wait for the video where we torture a Volkswagen Golf Alltrack to find out.

(Spoiler: It handled said "torture" just fine)

We have a 2014 allroad.
Its been fantastic. We have now close to 150k miles and its been nothing but reliable.
Ive offroaded it (no insane rock climbs..) many, many times.
The only thing that has broke is the passenger side motor mount.
I have gone through some front cv axles as i have torn multiple boots on trails, going over rough terrain, i hit a fox a turkey and a small deer (did have to replace a fog light and housing too).
That being said, it is stick except some suspension mods.
Still runs great.
No leaks ever and zero other issues.
We love our allroad!

Awesome! Rather than serious off-roading, I would imagine these would be used more in inclement weather on the gravel driveway up to the mountain/lake house. Looking forward to seeing how the V90 Cross Country compares. But isn't this one blue?

My cousin gots a sweet looking A4 Avant. A bit lowered with flush wheels. Yes it's a wagon...my wife's family had a wagon and she swears she'll never get a wagon and the Griswalds had a wagon. If it's around $30, 000 I'll get it but $50, 000....no!
