In January 2022, Andrea received the devastating news that she had breast cancer. She was scared and overwhelmed. Then she turned to the Breast Center at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, where her plan of care was led by Daria Abolghasemi, DO, a superior breast surgeon who also understands and supports the emotional journey her patients experience. Andrea underwent chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation, and is now in remission. Today, she is focused on family, her work as a fourth grade teacher, and the pursuit of new personal hobbies and passions that bring her joy.
