Christmas Music from Christopher Rouse (Karolju)

As the Christmas season roles around, have a listen to these eleven carol-like pieces composed by one of American's highly respected composers, Christopher Rouse.

Completed in 1990, Karolju displays the festive spirit of the holidays in a style that is far removed from the Rouse we've come to know through his other complex large-scale works. The music was completed first, and only then did the composer proceed to add his own text in several different languages. Here are the titles for each part:
