Thanks for info Ken. Just curious, what was that yellow stuff all washed up on the bank you were fishing?

I like the Buckeye Spot Remover in 1/8th for my river. Works great on hook-ups and dont snag much. I just use the one with the screw lock. I use trick and finesse worms with them.

I've done very well with the Yum pumpkin head for hook to land ratio with the divine shaky heads. I have not tried them around rock tho, so cannot speak to how well it comes through rock.

I use the same owner hook. Watched a interesting Edwin Evers video. He said to fish the neko around rocks to greatly reduce potential hangup vs shaky heads

Try the Jewel Baits, Jeff Kriet squirrel head. Light wire and penetrates easily. Also just has a little barb type keeper instead of the spring lock. You want the bait to be able to pull away from the head fairly easily.

Buckeye lures wide gap spot remover shaky head is what I’ve been using on up to 10” worms. They work

Cut the coil spring down to 1.5-2 coils, the bait will pull off it easier when setting the hook. Also they bend easily enough to line up with the hook.

Ken, I have the best luck with the following for lighter line up to 12lbs. Secret Lures Wide Gap Tail Shaker Jigs 3pk

6th sense Devine shakey head for heavier line.

Both for shakey head technique.

Haven't watched the video yet, but I am a shaky head/spinner bait guy and can't wait to see this! Great topic!

Please put your hand behind the hook or bait so we can see it better. Thanks. Your videos are always excellent.

I don't like any of the ones with the spring bait keeper or the swing head. I like the plain ball head Strike King tour grade jig heads, you can get them at Walmart. 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4 oz is all I use.

I pour my own shakey heads, football head and round head with flat on top. I usually use 1/4 oz and I modified the mold with a dremel to be able to use a 5/0 mustad black nickel.
Tugsten is great but I haven’t found one I really like with a 5/0.

Owner Haymaker hooks are what I use for my wobble heads...

For finesse shaky head fishing, I went to the Jewel Baits shaky head, on which you thread the head of the worm up the hook. Works real good for baits like a 4" senko, better than the Owners with the screwlock. For swingheads, I use an Owner extra wide gap and set the hook with a sideways sweep. That's what I would use for a big worm.

For thicker worms the best shakey head is the Gama Skip-gap, but the ultra head from Owner is a pretty close second. I use the Ski-gap for the the Zoom mag trick worm and mag finesse and i never have issues with a hook set. For the Biffle head not sure what hook would be best I so seldom throw them. The Owner haymaker is awesome if you can find them, they are always on backorder. The ultrahead is not the best for straight floro, it works much better with the braid to floro.

Shaky worm head from Davis has the gamakatsu that don't miss. The 3/0 oshaunessy are great for most worms. For swing heads use 1 size smaller than normal in the owner haymaker for better hookups and you can stop searching for either.

My go to is shakyhead. So much so that I started making my own. I'd love to send you some samples to try out. I'm starting to play with the swinghead as well.

Don’t hook through the worm, skin hook the side of the worm.
