Just started gardening and I planted cucumber, zucchini, and squash. After 2 months the plants were healthy. Today there were winds of 25 to 30 mph. A lot of wind damage to the leaves, but I staked the main stem. Hopefully they will recover.

Thank you for the tips on protecting the plants from the wind.

I am learning as I go and your tips helped!

The wind is so strong here in Texas the containers will be blown off. Every day the wind comes and at night it’s calm. I’m using makeshift stakes made from cattails I got out of my pond and weathered/dried stalks of plants I’ve found.

I live in a high desert so heat isn't a problem but the wind is so bad. Thank you!

Thank you! I have the same exact issues, high winds and incredible heat. I was blessed with a pop up tent frame, and I've located it near the back of my house where it has protection from the west (for the most part) some shade on the east under a tree I have, and I was wondering what I could use around this frame. I did plan on using shade cloth for the top for the super 100 temps, but now I'm thinking shade cloth all the way around... My plants are still small right now so I'm still in the planning stages. Thank you again :)

Our winds are nearly constant - none of these would work for us :( About 70% of the time we have wind of 10mph or more, about 60% of the time wind of 15mph or more and gusts of 20mph at least on day a week - shade cloth constantly would mean not enough light for our growing plants. The only one that might work in there is the cages

So we just had a strong wind and I wasn't ready for it. I have butternut and winter squash growing. Along with black and kidney beans. The stems are ok but it did a number to the leaves. They look all shriveled up. Will my squash and beans still grow? What can I do at this point? Thanks for the video. I saw this a bit late.😢

We have winds that blow a lot of blossoms clear off the plants, which reduces fruit yield by like 90% sometimes. Is shade cloth enough to prevent this?

Wish I saw this before I threw away my Serrano plant. It was super windy and the leaves shriveled up and dried up and assumed the plant itself died 😓
