We’re reviving this Classical Revival Porch on our Italianate, Victorian house.
In this video, we're excited to share significant progress with you. Our efforts have been concentrated on stripping paint from the doorway, removing the awnings, and introducing a beautiful stained glass transom. Additionally, we've dedicated time to restoring the capitals, which suffered damage during the installation of the awnings decades ago.

The porch is clearly an early 1900's addition. It is NOT Greek revival. There is absolutely NOTHING Greek about it. I would call it Colonial Revival or 1910's Classical Revival. The capitals are of the Scamozzi Ionic order, named after an Italian renaissance architect who worked under Andrea Palladio. Scamozzi capitals have their volutes (scrolls) angled at 45 degrees.

Is that red brick on the front facade painted? Will you strip it off?

The veranda looks great and the stained glass is beautiful. I like it better without the awnings, but if they have to be, so be it.👍
