Akron City Council reopens applications for Citizens’ Police Oversight Board

Akron City Council is looking to fill a vacant seat on the newly created Citizens’ Police Oversight Board, announcing that applications reopened as of 10 a.m. Tuesday.
While the application process is open to all, city officials say “additional consideration will be given to African American male candidates between the ages of 18 and 35,” in light of the board’s current composition.
