If Jesus is indeed, our example, if we choose to follow him, then we are called to do more than sit around and wait to die. i’m trying to learn what my purpose is for the first time in my life, instead of just living by default and doing what other people tell me. Trying to discover what talents I have that may serve God in someway in this world, so that the next chapter – – what some call the encore career, when people start over in their 60s, that this next chapter of my life might be dedicated in service to God. I’m not sure what that will mean and in the meantime, I have to do what I need to do to take care of myself . Thinking about eternity isn’t necessarily comforting to me. I’m not ready to go yet and I’ve survived many things that some people have not survived. I’m so grateful for this life that I want to do something useful with it and help others.
