Jamies – “Summertime Summertime” (UK Columbia) 1962

Led by Tom Jameson and his sister (and lead vocalist) Serena, the Jamies first charted with “Summertime Summertime” in 1958 when it reached #26 on US Epic. Epic reissued the disc in the summer of 1962 and it again charted, reaching #38. In the UK, the 1958 release was on Fontana, while the 1962 one was on Columbia; Epic having switched UK outlets in between.

The co-writer here, Sherman Feller, was the group’s manager.

Serena was not the lead vocalist. She was an alto and Jeannie Roy sang the lead.
