I've noticed Yamamuro in particular got a bit overzealous with his corrections, especially as we got to the later Z arcs. He would "correct" genga that didn't need it just because it isn't how *he* would personally draw it.

The first ever step is layout, better known in the Japanese pipeline as LO, genga is when you clean up your layout, and then it gets corrected by the enshutsu, (animation supervisor), comes back to the og animator or another animator, this step is called second key animation, called nigen in the Japanese pipeline.

The original Piccolo Genga looks a lot like the final world martial arts era of Dragon ball Piccolo.
