Nearly a week after the Palisades fire broke out, wiping out an entire area of Los Angeles, Al Jazeera has been taken behind the police lines to see the damage.
Residents don’t know when they’ll be allowed back into their homes because of toxins in the air and water, and risks of gas leaks and from downed power lines.
And this as forecasters warn more extreme winds and fires could be on the way in the next few days.
