Ahhh. a nice day of hitting the trails. nothin like loading up your bike and grabbing your burning hot exhaust pipe to end your amazing day.

You forgot the 'ride it up' method. While not the safest, it does provide a good source of you tube fail videos

People laugh at these “how too” videos but for a new rider it’s great. I’ve been loading bikes since the early 80’s. No biggie for most people. Great video as always Chase

1: build a ramp behind your truck
2: put a neck brace on and a helmet
3: dump the clutch and hold on like your riding a cr500

Rocky Mountain is smart enough to know that they can't tell you to ride it up like we do. That would be a PR nightmare. Thank you guys for all the great videos you put out.

7:13 imagine spending all day boosting around in gravel, dirt and branches then saying "oh but i don't wanna scratch my handle bars with a bare strap"

Excellent video gents! There's another good method, though: move somewhere awesome, plate the bike, ride to the trails! ;)

My first thought when coming here was "this guys probably 6"2 and can reach that far into the bed from the ground. until he said he was 5"7 LOL now I know my 5"10 ass got no excuse

Thanks for the detailed information on this video. The fact that you can run up next to your bike with a wide ramp helped me make the decision to get that type of ramp.

OMG, that single handed no ramp unloading method is unreal!! I just know I would drop the bike as I stepped down off the tailgate.

I realized how these guys struggle to unlaod and load the bike just to make a video👌I really appreciate the effort they put into this👏

Good tips!
We used a plank of wood, then put it on it's stand and put a milk container to protect the fork seals, then just tie down.
Most utes/trucks don't fit bikes well anymore, i now prefer a trailer or bike trailer with a toolbox and jerry can holders.👍

Unclip the tailgate cables and let it drop lower- 4 inches less vertical travel to make. Back up to the curb- 6 less inches. Back down into a ditch. Lower tire pressure in truck if you have a compressor. Anything to decrease overall vertical distance makes it much easier. All your methods were good too.

What he means by no ramp at all is someone stole your ramp while you're off riding and now you're screwed and you can't get your bike in the back of your truck

I don’t own a bike or a truck, don’t plan it, but I enjoyed this video. Thanks YouTube.

Excellent advice especially for the “vertically challenge” riders as unloading alone can be a bit of a nervous struggle.

Im still trying to figure out how to drive to the track once my bike is loaded. Looking forward to that video.

Lol before I could afford a ramp I used to load my 250 into the back of my tall ass truck by myself, just grab the forks n lift the tire onto the tailgate then lift the skid plate onto the tailgate, hold the bike at you hop up, manhandle it the rest of the way up, bada Bing bada boom

I used to ride my DRZ400 into my bed using a curved double ramp (Harbor Freight). I also recommend using a wooden chock between the front fender and the tire so you can tighten the rachet straps without bottoming the suspension.

Those strap extenders fit right around your forks too (instead of your bars). That way you don't have to compress your forks. Good for long trips or when you have to leave your bike in your truck for a while. ✌
