I am well aware I probably got something wrong, or there is some evidence pointing the fate of the Westlands in another direction. This is more or less me having fun in a video and putting out what I always thought about what would happen next without doing a TON of checking myself. I would love to hear what YOU all think is next? No one knows for sure, so we all get to have our own theories. I like that.

I thought this video was going to be about what I'm supposed to do with my life now that I finished the Wheel of Time series. Apparently it's not, and I still don't know.

Daniel is overlooking something important and that is the importance of Mat. Mat at the end of the series has become a political JUGGERNAUT in both the wetlands and the seachan empire. He also seems to forget that mat is a savant is strategy and has centuries of knowledge to back it up. Given that he wife and child are at stake he will most certainly do something about it IMMEDIATELY after the last battle. He has seen empires rise and fall and he also fully understand the implications of the dragons peace. The question thus remains, which side will he be on?

I'm very curious if Elayne ever takes the Three Oaths. With Egwene dead, I wouldn't be surprised if Elayne decides to push the limits of what she can get away with. Her enormous political power combined with her ties to the Kin, Seafolk, Aiel, and even the Black Tower kinda puts her in a unique position to operate independently of the White Tower if that's what she wants.

I just finished AMoL this morning. Started reading EotW in July so I'm truly feeling the emptiness now. What an incredible story I can't wait to start again.
Edit: just a quick warning, I'll be lurking round this channel a lot in the coming days as I'll be watching of your WoT deep dive/lore vids that I havent been able to watch in case of spoilers.

I always imagined a Cold War like situation between Seanchan and the Westerland. I agree that infighting and possible civil war will weaken the Seanchan long enough for Elaine to consolidate her power. Together with the Aiel and White and Black Towers, they would form a NATO like agreement against the Seanchan. I also agree the Seanchan would wage a covert shadow campaign against the Westerlands, but so would the Westerlands. Mutually assured destruction would keep the two factions from outright war.

I finish a Memory of Light about half an hour ago and I'm not sure i can ever read another book again. I loved the ending so much.

I believe that Matt and Tuon’s influence would be more successful than you think. In just AMOL we see General Galgan’s impression of Matt completely change. I belief this could be capitalized on by Tuon to implement change.

That what I really liked about the ending of WoT. Even though the biggest evil in the world was defeated it doesn't mean there is peace and there is no real "happily ever after". In my opinion, this is part of what the Wheel of Time is all about even though there is this literal incarnation of pure there is still evil unrelated to it done solely by humans.

I always imagined that there would be a third power or tower if you will that would arise, one of mixed Aes Sedai and Ashaman working together towards the future whilst the black and white towers slowly overcame their prejudices over the centuries as the golden age was brought in again.

You did not mention Rand Al Thor one time in this. He is still around, in a different body yes but still alive.

I really wish they could pick someone to write WoT spin-offs. It feels like there is so much more story to tell. I mean we've only seen a tiny snippet of the end of the 3rd Age and even just that Age covers thousands of years. You could do a prequel series about Lews Therin or about Artur Hawkwing or Birgitte Silverbow or a completely new story in the 4th Age. The possibilities are almost endless.

knowledge of the future changes the future, (ie the twins' names) but more importantly Rand is now a god that can directly alter the pattern, and there was no such entity in the vision. The question is will Rand remain tethered to humanity via the empathy and responsibility he feels, or will the Creator's Avatar on Randland (can we have a better name please) go all Dr. Manhattan and by the time the Aiel are destroyed and Seanchan take over Rand is just an incorporeal meta-consciousness watching the story unfold.
Are we Rand/Dr. Tar Valon????

One core concept that you didn't cover is that with the Bore sealed, people's negative inclinations, jealousy, greed, hatred etc. will be blunted. Things like cooperation and negotiation will have a greater chance of working, a reverse of what was noted in the Age of Legends after the Bore.

In terms of the White Tower, I'd say the concept of allowing male channelers in is something of a foregone conclusion. With the Seanchan and their Da'mane knocking on their door and with the existing bonded Asha'man already there, the Tower couldn't afford to be fussy.

Honestly, I think in the coming years, the 'Westlands' and the Seanchan will probably both be ready for war but neither will strike first. IMO, it will be a Cold War situation where tensions are extremely high and the threat of war is ever-present, but not reach that stage. While the Seanchan have an over-inflated ego, I think they will try to avoid a war for a few reasons:

1. With an ever-increasing number of channelers heading to The White Tower with the changes Egwene brought about, I think that the Aes Sedai (particularly the Green Ajah) become a Battle Ajah in full (with the other Ajahs having some battle training as well) and will be training and preparing for war to combat the Damane. I think the Aes Sedai change the Warder requirements and allow women to become warders after Birgite and Elayne worked well. The number of warders will reach the greatest it ever has been as members of the other Ajahs take on more than one warder. More channelers trained for battle and more highly trained and skilled fighters in the warder ranks make the Aes Sedai that much more dangerous of an opponent.

2. More and more men will head to the Black Tower to train as the stigma surrounding male channelers decreases. This won't just be men who can channel either. Men will go there to be trained in various weapons and combat. I can see a sort of pact between the Black Tower and the Aes Sedai stating that at times various members of each will come together and practice working in circles.

3. The armies of the different nations will increase in size with more citizens being trained in case of a conflict. This won't necessarily increase the size of each nation's standing armies, but the regular citizens that are trained will form a reserve force that are always ready if needed.

4. The Aiel numbers will grow again and in time will become one unified nation. While they won't be as much of a warrior race as before, they will still be one of the most deadly and skilled people in battle.

5. The Borderland nations rebuild and keep some form of their 'feudal' nature. While they no longer have to protect against the shadow along the blight, they will always be ready for any attack by the Seanchan. Many of the more skilled fighters and tacticians are hired to help train the armies of other nations.

If any war were to happen, I think it will be when there are none among the rulers still alive with any memory of the last battle. I like to think that if Mat stays with Tuon and Min serves her as is implied, they will be the voice of reason and calming influence on both sides.

In time, I do think any chance of conflict will end and the Seanchan will slowly come back and rejoin the Westland society. From what I gathered throughout the series, the Seanchan are at a disadvantage in the numbers game and as more channelers are trained in the Westlands, the Seanchan advantage of the Damane will decrease massively and they will realize they are massively outmatched and any attempt to fight will be futile. The only reason their attack was so effective was that they caught the coastal cities/towns by surprise and nobody expected the Damane. That advantage is now gone.

I really loved this more highly edited style, the animations and the voiceover was great.

I'm sorry, I just couldn't get over the whole Seanchan plot thread. Slavery is horrible in any form, but being a Damane is probably the most terrible way to be enslaved that's ever been imagined.

I was just waiting for some catharsis on that in particular, perhaps some clever way of turning the fate of the enslaved women on its head by the end. But nope, just left open-ended.

I was even more upset that Egwene didn't take the deal for them to at least free the women whose minds hadn't been broken yet and still wanted to be freed. That would have been at least something, freeing the women who were experiencing the most grief.

I don't know, the whole thing left a bitter taste in my mouth

I believe this is where the role of Mat becomes important. We are hinted he is going to play a major role in the future. And I believe his role is to make Seanchen understand.
