Spoiler Alert: My Fiddle is alive and well, but I did ☠️ a few (and many others) before I got to this point. Plant care is truly trial and error and figuring out what works best in your environment and lifestyle, so consider all the deceased plants as part of the journey 🌱

The fiddle at the end is not the same plant - it’s actually my friend’s that I’m plant sitting. My own fiddle was similar in size when I first got it and it’s getting pretty big now.

What’s your most fickle plant?

I put mine in direct sunlight, forget to water it for weeks, and slap it around every once in a while. Grows like a champ.

I showed mine this video and it died 😂

I’m not a fake plant person, but the ONE plant where I always recommend someone just buy a good imitation is a fiddle leaf. If you look at them sideways they ass is DEAD.

My weakness is maiden hair ferns. Always want it. Never can keep one alive. 😅 They're so beautiful but so fragile. Not enough water, it dies. Too much water, it dies. Not enough sun, it dies. Too much sun, it dies. Move it to a different location, it dies.

I think I have a relative of one of these?? It was abandoned in an apartment so I took it, now it’s in the corner of my dining room and it’s growing more stem and leaves! When I found it it had 4 leaves, now it has 9!

This piecred me right into my heart....going through these emotions right now. On the verge of losing my areca palm because of too much attention and too much rainwater feeding ....

Haha. You're too relatable! Sometimes, I just guess how I should care for it, and hopefully, it'll be fine! 😅

Instead of a fiddle leaf I got a verigated rubber tree. It survived an attack by a squirrel who ate all the leaves and losing all of its leaves to too much sunlight when I was moving and left it outside in the Southwest. If you want a survivor get a rubber tree 👍

fiddle leaf was one of my first plants, it still has all its baby leaves, never leaves the corner, occassionally gets a bath, but otherwise is forgotten and thriving lol

Mine died when it saw me walking up to it at the store.

I went to Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls, NY and they had many fiddle leaf figs that were the size of trees (then again, the main bird area was basically a green house).

So sorry part of your plant broke off. Hope you are able to propagate the top half, I know you can do it.👍
In my experience Fiddle Leaf Figs are finicky that’s why I don’t have one anymore.😂 Ficus is a beautiful genus but some of the Ficus varieties can be touchy. My Ficus triangularis variegata has been frustrating, it hates to be moved even one foot into slightly more light then it will lose all of its leaves.
My hats off to all the successful finicky Ficus owners.
