He clearly took the anger towards his mother out out the woman in his life. It’s sad that people don’t put a better effort into parenting.

I am a Michigan Wolverine fan, and have been watching college football for along time.. Phillips was the greatest college running back I ever saw. I am still somewhat stunned to this day how he threw it all away. What a shame

I know it was very tragic but making Dick Vermeil cry is like an everyday activity.

It’s still hard to believe that Rams traded away Jerome Bettis just to get this guy.

Tom osborne created the TeamMates program. Mentors meet with the student once a week and they do activities. He wanted to positively impact these kids. He wanted to prevent stuff like this from happening. Look into it if you'd like

The fact that he tried to choke out so many people makes me concerned about what happened to him during his childhood.

A single mother is 1 of the most tragic situations that can happen to a child. Women were not designed to be alone, the story in the Garden of Eden is a great example & especially not mothers...Children need fathers more than mothers.

I'm kinda surprised there isn't a 30for30 special about Nebraska yet.

Some people can't be helped no matter what. It's a shame. You can point fingers, but in the end, you have to take responsibility for your own actions.

Saw this on cable Lawrence Phillips running for his life very sad story, and I don’t believe his death was a suicide in prison. He definitely was a talent, but demons got best of him

That's why you have to devote the time with kids when they are young and teach them and help navigate them through life until they reach a point of understanding life for themselves

This is what happens when you pamper a guy and allow him to run rampant over the rules without consequence .

The late Bill Walsh, while guiding the 49ers through their winning era was doing a live interview. He too knew of Phillips talent and took a chance, in spite of continued incidents and red flags. A siren of a nearby emergency vehicle passed by and without skipping a beat, Bill Walsh told the interviewer, " They're probably coming for Lawrence Phillips".How prophetic was Walsh? Phillips was again arrested a day or so later, and was promptly released by the 49ers.
