Finally someone who can explain, I called audio control and all they said was to set monoblock at full range... literally all they recommended

according to audiocontrol the epicenter should be installed before anything else, this allows to properly analyze full spectrum harmonics and better, cleaner bass restoration after that you woould feed that signal into the dsp's sub input and tune from there

I like to have my epi at the front of the signal chain as an input option into the head unit, in front of all crossovers, you have to be careful of your gain set up as the epi can be set to overdrive the inputs, but this allows for the full effect of the epi circuitry to be applied and let the crossovers direct those effects through the speakers as best applied via crossovers. You can adjust crossovers in the head unit or along the chain to achieve a variety of effects. sometimes a narrow band of Epi effects is desired sometimes a wider range of effects sounds better. just my two cents, I prefer to have full range into the epi for sure with options to narrow the frequencies if desired. Thanks for the insights, good info.

Man I had a epicenter in my old set up. I sold my car with my music but kept my epicenter and my subs. My new set up I'm gonna do next month, I'm adding the dm-608 and putting back in my epicenter. I love the epicenter especially for some of the music genre that I listen to. Im never running without an epicenter. I can't wait to try the dm-608.

Very good explanation!!! Couple of issues I'm having though with DSPs and Epicenters/bass processors. I have a Stetson Bluetooth processor that I'm considering installing before my preamps to clean up the sound from the head unit before any further amplification. I'll have 4 channels of selectable A, B and AB outputs (or combined as 2 since 1 output has to be split to connect an amp from one output. Meaning 1&2 would be a left and right if used straight). Using it this way I could tune channel 1 however I like and run it to the preamp let's say on the right input, #2 however would be on the left input both controlled by the preamp fader as a mids and highs preamp. Channels 3 and 4 would go to the inputs of the second preamp for midbass/midrange and bass. I think this would increase my tuning capabilities. I also think DSPs have the same features as Epicenters. Select the frequency in the parametric EQ (sweep), adjust it's Q (wide), boost or cut, adjust gain, etc. with tons of more tuning options. The preamps I use have subsonic filters from 30-300hz.

I know this is an old video but in the epicenter manual it tells you to put it before any processor

Two questions why don't you just turn off the low-pass filter on the pioneer subwoofer output and let the full range pass and the epicenter has a subsonic filter on it would you also use the subsonic filter on the amp too?

So...how is a normal person who has a normal 4 channel headunit supposed to hook up the epicenter to it? since appraently the sub channel isnt full range, and the other 4 channels are already being taken up buy the front and rear rcas to the 4 channel amp?

Is the dsr-1 good if you want pure sound quality on a budget

Hello thank you for all yiur awsome videos, as the future advances so does car audio, I need help on a question, I have a Jeep Cherokee kL trailhawk Addition but the sound system is the 8.4 screen and has only six speakers it’s not the fancy alpine that comes in some of them, Anyhow I want to keep the stock head unit I do have a LC7i I am going to be running a four channel amp for the mids and highs and Amp for the P threes as far as harness goes what would I need to get by the way doing Fosgate 6 x 9’s in the doors and I have the adapters to plug and play already

On the example with the pioneer radio you showed raising the lpf to 250hz but couldn't you just turn the lpf off on the headunit sub out thus providing the full range signal and then route the level out to the epicenter, then monoblock and lpf there?

Can you actually tune your amp with the epicenter in line

If you turn off the low pass filter on the head won’t you get full range to the Epicenter?

I was under the impression Epicenter goes before DSP. Maybe You are assuming the DSP only has 2 inputs.
Mine is 4x8 I'm gonna go sub outputs to epicenter and then epi to ch 3 and 4 on the DSP. I'm not sure what range my Alpine sub out does. It is in "defeat" mode though. I'll have to test it. DSP handles all the crossover, eq, delay. So I still get Sub level adjustment, plus the Epi knob.

Would the kicker key 200.4 be enough power for the kenwood 6x9 and 3.5 components? Paired with the key 500.1, in a dodge challenger with premium, should I get an amppro still?
