Not many people know karpathy's college times. He was seen as a god among the rubik's cube speedcubing community with this YouTube channel Badmephisto. I loved his videos and his intellect.

Fast forward 10 years and I see him as a director at Tesla, mind blown.

Super niche but I’ve been a fan of Kaparthy before I even knew he was Kaparthy. He uploaded tutorials on how to solve a 3x3 Rubik’s cube on early YouTube and got me into speedcubing but stopped uploading a decade ago and it blew my mind that Andrej was the same guy as Badmephisto

That's huge news that Karapathy would be interested in returning to Tesla some day to work on the humanoid robot. It sounds like he does not enjoy management, though. Maybe he could work as a researcher or something.

its good to take a rest and have a fresh mind when You are getting stuck tackling a difficult unsolved problem .. At least its similar for me if im getting stuck on a crossword puzzle then i will come back another time and very often its so easy to finish it later on.
