The filibuster should be as in days of old, where the person calling for a filibuster is required to verbally debate in person to keep the filibuster going, stopping even for a bathroom break ends the filibuster.

This current situation where a person can virtually call a filibuster & that's all that needs to happen to block a bill is total BS, it gives a single individual too much power & is undemocratic!

If I may suggest... The filibuster should be a SPEAKING filibuster. If a Senator wants to impede legislation, s/he should be prepared to verbally defend the position.

How about instead of ending the filibuster, bring back the requirement that a Senator hold the floor? Gonna be a lot harder for Republicans to block every action when they have to actually be a work instead of on Fox or vacation.

About damn time. They need to either restore the filibuster to require senators speak continuously or get rid of the filibuster entirely. The current situation allows any senator to say "I Filibuster" and that is the end of it. The current situation is just nuts.
