Congrats on 5 years. Keep doing you, I came for a DIY, and stayed for your personality. Some people you just click with, even online 🤙

Wow! What a lovely interlude! That was the best "channel reflection " I've seen! I personally love it the way it is. I like that its always random stuff, like real life. I like that I can stuff away the practical info in my brain for later. I like that you're personable and make it seem like - yeah you don't have to be a pro, just google it and give it a go! I found you through the air purifier review and was an instant sub because of how articulate and thorough it was. In all videos you seem to cover though little tops that are often overlooked yet super helpful BECAUSE you're not a Professional and this is so helpful for the other non professionals! If you're happy with the growth id say dont change anything!

I live in a highrise in Chicago so I don't DIY much ... so why am I here?
I stop by every post because I like your humor -- Your subject matter may vary, but your humor is a constant

I discovered your channel from your 2019 video of "how to install an outlet with a junction box". Your. Ideo was informative, well made with editing and voice over work, and most importantly fun to watch. I hate people who spend 5 minutes giving their life story and before they get started they go over a JHA. You're to the point and down to earth. You're the type of guy that I'd buy beer for in return for helping me. Keep up a great work. Make videos over whatever you think will help the most people, and keep your sense of humor!

I first came across your channel a couple years ago when I was looking to perform a specific fix on my '07 Subaru Forester. The window gussets were worn out and it made a loud sound while traveling literally anywhere, especially on the highway. My first thought was, "wow, someone else actually noticed this issue and decided to fix it!" Then you showed me how to stop the annoying seat chime. Then I was hooked.

I myself enjoy DIY projects because it makes me feel good. But you also highlighted that it is to improve your circumstances, and yes, I totally agree. I grew up in a poorly maintained home where literally everything was falling apart all the time. Didn't matter if it was structural, electrical, plumbing...it was broken. So I spent my days fixing things and trying to make things better. I think that I fell in love with this channel because I see you also fixing and improving things that folks wouldn't normally think to do themselves (like cleaning a dishwasher). I really admire that!

Another aspect that solidified my enjoyment of your content was your sense of humor and personality. Simple as that. U funny bruh.

Some content I would like to see in the future are more DIY projects including your BMW M4 if you still have it. (Do you still have it?)
But honestly, whatever videos you feel like making I will watch because I simply enjoy the content you already produce.

And yes to a Discord. That would be very cool.

Sincerely,

The Accountant

Happy 5th!

I watch because I'm generally entertained. It's the personality for sure and while some of the projects you've conquered have already been something I've done on my own, it's interesting to see how someone else tackled it. I also regularly view the content here because I'm all for right to repair.

I honestly can't recall how I stumbled upon your page. Glad that I did. Oh! Ya, I remember now--it was the cheap Roku TV from a looong time ago. I was going to buy the same model. =) Easy to watch, and I don't mind the time 'lost' when doing so.

Also, the fact that you sometimes interact with the commenters. It adds a bit of a personal touch. Not really possible with 10's of more 1000's of viewers. But, willing to forego that when it happens!

As far as what you should be doing for the future? Whatever it is, don't lose the 'antics' part of the whole delivery. You could, if you feel decent enough about it, is to take something that you can record with you to do more blog-like content. Just a mobile phone will do. You never know what might be interesting. Shopping and every banana is black, or trying to find the right grit sandpaper. Who knows? A lot of creators do 'blog' content and people watch, simply because of the creator's personality. Leverage that if you can.

I won't say more DIY, as you can't possibly do it as much as the algorithm would need you to do in order to become more successful. Still do it, but pepper it in with the other easier stuff. The pan seasoning was great. Tips and tricks like that fall into DIY for sure, but again, there is only so much content that you can pull from things like that. The night drive was cool. Like said, try to leverage that stuff a little more to fill in the gaps in between. Finish off the videos with links/captions to other past videos that might be relevant to what you were talking about, etc. Little things like that.

Anyway, wall of text! Cheers!

One of your early bathroom suite videos amused me so I stayed a while. I enjoy the bigger or more general project videos the most, and those with a humorous voiceover are the best. I'm not so interested in the vehicle maintenance videos - I don't own the same models of car

I appreciate this. Just FYI, the video that caused me to subscribe was your video on the Dishwasher Gunga. I have the same one. I enjoy your style. And IMO, YouTube removed the Dislike button to protect Biden. If Trump returns to office, they'll reinstate it, and then pay people to click it probably. :)
