Russian Su-35 aggressively engages U.S. F-16 near Alaska

The U.S. military released a video showing a Russian fighter jet performing an unsafe manoeuvre near Alaska during an interception by U.S. military. The U.S. frequently intercepts Russian aircraft in international airspace near Alaska and typically describes these encounters as safe and professional. However, officials say that this time was different. Air Force General Gregory Guillot stated that the behaviour of Russian Su-35 was unsafe, unprofessional, and put everyone at risk, which is not characteristic of a professional air force.

The rest of the world would see this video and assess that a US F-16 fighter jet came too close to an escorted Russian Tu-95 "Bear" long range bomber. The Russian bomber escort, seen here as the Sukhoi Su35 let the F-16 pilot know he was too close. A friendly fly-by was all it took to get the F-16 pilot's attention. The US wouldn't allow a Su 35 to get too close to a B-52 bomber and Russian protocol is no different.
