Trying out the Anytone AT779UV for the first time. Great reception and signal reports. Only one quibble, in VFO mode it seems tuning is locked to 12.5khz steps. Have any of you solved this issue yet? --Issue solved below--

In the software, scroll to the bottom of the memory channel list and look for VFO1 and VFO2. This is where you can set the VFO step frequency range for each VFO channel. See my next video for more detail.

I also noticed the step limitation issue. I was able to change it from the front panel menu items. It is there as well as in the software, as you found.

If you use the provided Programming cable with the available online AnyTone software, you can easily change bandwidth to what you prefer. Keep in mind that a narrow bandwidth will typically have greater range than a wide bandwidth.

What do you think about the reception?
Would you recommend this or another one?
I am going mobile from a Chinese handheld and I'm not sure I can afford a yaesu mobile radio. I don't know if it is superheterodyne or if it gets easily overloaded like my HT. Hope you found out how to change what you wanted with the cable. Looking forward for your reply

China radios for a long way to go.
Allicro radios have. flaw.
But if you can live with memory mode you got a compact back pack radio.
