Показать описание
Magical realism is a literary movement associated with a writing style that incorporates magical or supernatural events into realistic narrative without questioning their improbability.

This fusion of fact and fantasy is meant to question the nature of reality as well as call attention to the act of creation.

By making lived experience appear extraordinary, magical realist writers contribute to a reenvisioning of a culture as vibrant and complex.

In this video, we will talk more about what magic realism is, its history, some of its most famous authors, and its themes.

Must say I am quite flummoxed by this method of writing, I was familiar with the books of Sir Salman Rushdie as I have read many of his books, the last was " The moor last sign", this I found difficult to comprehend. But after reading Gabriel Garcia Marquez 's " The hundred years of solitude ", I am filled with curiosity about magical realism, didn't know that South American writers were the first to adopt magical realism. After understanding what magical realism is I found it fantastic. Thanks for the video.
