Aphid control in the greenhouse. How to kill and get rid of aphids.

Aphids are a real problem in a greenhouse because they can spread so rapidly. You have to keep a constant eye out for them as the weather warms up. Tea (Camellia sinensis) seedlings can’t handle oils (neem, horticultural, etc) because they’ll burn. We treat aphids here with a 7-10 day rotation of Azera and Acephate. Be sure to use a good respirator! Links to those products are here:

Azera is a extract of neem, Azadiracthtin. And Pyrethrins extract of daisy flowers. Just fyi. Neem oil can be harsh, especially if it is not emulsified correctly

I spotted some aphids in my greenhouse, just a few on my basil. Released a package of ladybugs, hopefully that will take care of them. Was about $12 @garden center.

Beauveria bassiana is an option. Green lacewing larvae.

Are these chemicals dangerous to humans?
It really does not sound like something I want on tea that I’ll be drinking…
Something that ruptures a bug’s gut or a neurotoxin.

You might want to use integrated pest management because no one wants chemicals on their tea
