Sad to hear. The Amity Affliction was my gateway band into metal core and deathcore. I love his vocals and I love the bands message. I hope for the best for Ahren and TAA. Really helped me through some tough times and I just want them to be able to do the same.

Idk how I feel about his wife, Ahren broke up with his longtime girlfriend Casey, and not two months later he was with Lucy, and three months after that they were married. Not trying to speculate, it just seems like she’s been a thorn in TAA’s side since marrying Ahren. Idk though, the whole situation is a train wreck and it truly sucks. TAA has put out some really good bangers and I hate to see them withered down to what they are now.

The fanbase has turned so toxic with this, it’s been pretty much Ahren vs Joel

I feel like it's a large part to blame on Ahren because he's A. Now trashing people on IG I think i saw and B. He gave a statement before the band could even prep something. They should've been able to both work this out but he kinda forced their hand because either way they look like assholes now. I can understand the fact that he doesn't want to tour but why should that stop the rest of TAA from doing something they genuinely love? They could've kept him for the studio albums but he seemed to deliberately want to burn the bridge before they even got to it. I get that they are a band but it's somewhat selfish to be like yeah I don't want to tour so let's just all collectively stop. They could've came to an agreement but it seems Ahren didn't want to wait for that and it's not like TAA could go forever without addressing it if they literally gave him no other options because eventually they'd have to face the music (literally). Now its just become a breakdown civil war that should not have happened. When Jay got kicked from Slipknot unfairly he still kept it peaceful instead of tossing gas on the fire

Let's be real. Any amity fan knows how pivotal Ahren is to the band. I absolutely love Amity and really hope string can do whatever will be best for himself. Hoping all the best for both parties, but I really don't know how they're going to replace those cleans man... Ahren is so vocally talented. </3

Thanks for clearing some of this shit up. I don’t fuck with Instagram so seeing yesterdays announcement was a bombshell. Keep up the informative videos brother 🫡

I support Amity all the way, Ahren is seemingly problematic imo.

Claiming someone isn't an addict and then criticising a public comment as not helping his sobriety is the kind of hypocrisy I'm here for!

I will still support the band but it will be weird for a while every body knows amity as ahren and Joel and Iv enjoyed watching then both grow as men with there friendship it does suck

This sh*t sucks. The scene won’t be the same but I do wish them all the best.

I used to love them in my teen years but their music became just an absolute drag to listen to. From what I've seen from people who have met Joel, is that he is a pretty rude dude. I doubt that Ahren is as bad as the band tried to make him seem, and I doubt that anyone in the band except Joel is behind this but im excited to hear what Ahren does in the future. He was the last good thing about that band. But with that said Ahren still ownes 50% of the band and Joel owns the other 50% so we'll at least get a little drama show to enjoy over the coming months.

His gf sohnds like she is adding fuel to the fire. 50%, illegal, i smell a lawsuit. That really sucks that their friendship/ band has ended.

This reminds me how Escape The Fate went down with Ronnie and Max green, its so sad to see this same issue with a similar band but thats life, his vocals would always be in my heart, even though i moved on from alot emoish metalcore bands like AA to dark gothic music but i will never forget how much AA did for me in my troubel times 🖤🖤🖤

Its kinda a confusing statement from ahrens wife since if we look back on LTOTM release and after that ahren had a lot of alcohol related issues and he was constantly smoking. I saw them live 2020 right before lockdown and even there ahren really didnt deliver, seeming to struggle with vocals and other stuff. Its sad it ends this way but i still hope TAA carries on with a new singer. I mean i love the new LP so i surely would give TAAs new Singer a chance.
