you’re trying to find the anti derivative of 2x+3
The formula for finding the anti derivative in this situation would be (x^n+1)/(n+1)
For the 2x, it’s being raised to the power of 1. Therefore, it would become 2x^1+1
Which would be 2x^2 divided by 1+1 which is 2. Resulting in (2x^2)/2. 2/2=1, so you’re left with x^2
As for the 3, you add 1 to the x which isn’t shown in the derivative. It’s pretty much (3x^0+1)/(0+1), giving you 3x once simplified.
The +C is at the end because it’s an indefinite integral, meaning C is a constant that could be anything. Usually, if finding a derivative, taking the derivative of a variable makes it zero. Therefore, we can’t say for sure what that variable was originally when we find the anti derivative
