Do how to properly utilize each item in an ifac. 1 item each monday.

It doesn't really surprise me that the medical is the least attended. I need to take one even though I spent nearly six years running on an ambulance. The odds of needing to use your weapon are small in comparison to needing first aid skills.

I love these medical Monday’s series.
I always carry a R.A.T.S. Tourniquet and Hyvent. Rats because it works on everyone especially children and small women. I should get your VOK (ventilated operator kit).
I taught first aid in my sons Boy Scout troop, always a blast. It came back to help me when I broke my fibula on a hike, 2 scouts splinted my leg with branches and duck tape, while 2 others made me a crutch. I limped out on my own.

Immediate action medical was an excellent class. Everyone should take it.

100% agree with it making you more useful. Before I took the class I had zero prior training. Now I am 100% that I can at least help in a medical crisis where before I would have just been a bystander.

Love the “learning the jargon” part. I felt the same way about culinary school in many ways.

Ever since taking The Fight, I have been wanting to take medical. As soon as I get vacation time at the new job, I’m coming down.

Maybe a video on head, neck and eye trauma treatment without medical kit. The recent tornado mass casualty incident made me think about this. Thanks for the vids.

Kayla, One of the best things I learned in IAM is that most people will be unconscious when you have to use the nasopharyngeal tube. Easy to do, but not fun for a conscious recipient.

IAM was a great class. It really blew my mind. Fighting Pistol was great, but I had at least shot a pistol before. With IAM, all the drills and equipment were completely new to me. Cannot recommend Immediate Action Medical high enough.

Good content. Good logic, good lessons. All good…

Learned a long time ago boxing and judo, no matter the fight, you will get hit, how you are able to respond to that hit can mean the difference in how you move forward in the fight.

I would love to see a caveman simple explanation on how to use a chest decompression needle. That is the only piece of equipment in my ifaks that I am not 100% confident in how to properly use.

Medical skills are important! I've never needed to draw a weapon in my life. I haven't used my medical skills since, uh, last month...

During the I.A. Medical class we saw a product that can stop bleeding super fast but is not yet approved for humans. Can you give us an update as to when or if it may ever be offered for we the people? What's holding it up?

Yes yes yes yes. Kayla you and James suggested IAM for the wife as a first class with Tac Res, and I think it was a success. I would love to see a breakdown of what rides with you in the car everyday.

After I get a tourniquet on, what then? What can be done when there is no 9-1-1?

If I don't have room to EDC a CAT are you guys 100% against the use of the RATS? If you are, why? Thanks!
