Doppelganger glitch in Tomb Raider 1

The doppleganger is a creature in Atlantis, it mimics Lara's moves and you must push it into lava :) In this video I simply try to trick it but it doesn't work.

This bit of the game really freaked me out when I was younger.

I have screenshots where the doppelganger died with a cliff-fall animation while Lara was still alive. When I shot the pistols, the dead doppelangnger was also shooting from the ground.

One of the most common game-breaking bugs I’ve seen with this level is when you fall off one of the large pillars. The doppelganger will play the animation of Lara dying of fall damage and will essentially be stuck in the floor, making it impossible to progress.

Don't know about the console versions but it is possible to dysync the doppelganger due to an unrelated bug. But it turns out the developers may have known about it because just reentering the room will reset the doppelganger.

Imagine that. Natla was so impressed by Lara that Natla wanted to clone Lara perfectly. And that's despite all of Atlantis' technology and capabilities.
