What does it mean to have an 'afterlife'? Are there different kinds of afterlives? What would it feel like to be in an afterlife? If one samples the various afterlives on offer from the world's multitudinous religions, one would be forgiven for being confused. Here's the core question: If there is a an afterlife, do individual personalities persist?

Wow, those sure are three incredibly strained lines of evidence.

But why should there be meaning in anything? There's nothing in the universe that would point to any kind of meaning, it's all random, largely inhospitable, and mostly empty space (unless you count dark energy/matter). There are many more reasons to believe life ends at death than to believe otherwise. It's horrible to think that, but it is what it is.

So the arguments for the afterlife

Argument 1 - Argument from Sadness
1) If there is no afterlife, that would make me sad
2) I don't want to be sad
3) Therefore, there is an afterlife

Argument 1A - Argument from Desire
The fact that I want there to be a God and afterlife proves there is a God and afterlife

Argument 2 - Near Death Experiences
"We'd have talk about each on a case by case basis...in science, we look for evidence", provides no examples or evidence, enough said

Argument 3 - The Resurrection of Jesus
I really want the Resurrection of Jesus to be true which means it happened. There's also good historical evidence. Provides no historical evidence.

This ain't gonna cut it.

The fact that we have come here from nothing, to exist once, to be conscious, gives some hope of an after life.

Our world and universe existed before we were ever born. There are many worlds in many universe, waiting to be born into.

One can only hope. God is, or God is not. Reason cannot decide between the two alternatives and probably never will be able to.

No amount of circumstantial evidence ever equates to absolute evidence.

Two month ago my Father passed away due to cancer. A month before his departure, he complained to my sister, there were strange people inside our home, some time he complained there were people hiding under his bad. Only God knows, what he was seeing.
About 2 days before his departure he went completely mute not talking at all, only his eyes were open looking side to side gasping for air, while fully conscience, in last minute he himself tied his hands over his chest.

I had a cardiac arrest for about twenty seconds some years back. Felt myself shooting off into the sky until I was sucked back into my body only to regain consciousness with the crash team at the hospital all around me. Was it an illusion from an oxygen starved brain or something else? I was interested that I had the sensation though because anaesthetic left no memory.

there was a sentence in Phenomenology of Perception, written by Merleau Ponty, that goes like "our body is the general medium for having a world." so, whatever I experience in life is related to my body right? I see I touch, I think, ı dream, I feel, and so on. After I die, my body will decay, let say it will disappear. How do I experience "an afterlife" without my medium?

Btw, how about doing some videos about phenomenology?

The real question is if there is an afterlife then what will we do the whole day in an afterlife

This question is not to be deal with by discussion about opinions or speculations or any belief or faith system. Sooner or later we will come to terms with it and verify ourselves whether there is one. We just won't be able to get to the bottom of the question without our own direct experience.

I don't think he's saying that there is food because there is desire, but rather that there is desire because there is food. as in, there is subject because there is object, in the first place. not the other way around. that is at least how I understand it.

“I can put all the NDEs in one bag”… shows me this guy knows nothing of the topic…. Is this guy a scientist or a science dogmatic?

The only way life after death could be scientifically explained is for this universe (U1) to have a twin universe (U2) such that each particle in U1 is Quantum Entangled with its corresponding particle in U2. Through this entanglement, all the events and information from U1 are passed to U2 in real time and when a person dies in U1, his/her twin in U2 is unentangled and can start phase 2 of his/her life. This process continues till the person reaches the absolute universe.

One has to study ontology, epistemology and methodology if getting closer to truth is what she wants from the bottom of her heart.
