An unsettling portion of this was just Felix making Ben correct typing errs and explaining Sudo !!, and I loved every second of it.

I love the fact, that you guys are still using Win 7.
I also like how Felix has become an important part of this show. He seems to have a lot of knowledge, he helps out and adds this specific amount of professionalism, which fits perfectly and makes watching these videos quite enjoyable!

"I have a tendency to select no " (Felix on selecting a graphical login). Felix literally just became my hero!

I love that you guys spent a lot of time on the computer, showing the command prompt work! I recently started delving in sudo / shell commands recently but on OSX, so it's nice to see what you guys are doing.

I have a feeling that having all of those skype names in the open is going to backfire on them....

I feel like you might want to crop those skype names?

You can feel Felix's frustration with Ben's typing :)

Why didn't you use ArchLinux with dwm as the window manager ?

I always imagined "sudo !!" as me shouting "SUDO!!" after I already had sent the command, sorta like you might shout "WITHOUT PICKLES!!" after someone ran off to get you a burger.

I'm so glad I found this channel. I want to design my own gaming laptop chassis, but am finding it so hard to get in contact with the right people.

There's also `sudo -s` which give you an elevated prompt (think of it as "save"), similar to the `su` command, but maintaining your user's environment and using your password.

Also, to be annoyingly nitpick-y: the first partition is not the "boot sector" but the "boot partition" which holds the kernel, bootloader, and the minimal filesystem needed to start the OS (called initrd: initial ramdisk). It needs to be formatted with an old/simple filesystem like fat16/fat32/ext2 so the bootloader can read it and load the kernel. Since those filesystems are significantly simpler they don't require as much code and therefore compiled bytes to read the filesystem. In contrast, the boot sector is the first 512 bytes of an MBR (Master Boot Record referred to as MSDOS in parted, in the video) disk label which holds all of the partition information as well as a super tiny bootloader program (only 436 bytes!). These first-pass bootloaders typically hold just enough code to find and execute the full bootloader found on the boot partition, which then has the ability to launch the Linux kernel.

Does the system allow for touch screen functions if so it would be a nice start for a "Convertible' Laptop/Tablet.

I read Andrew Huangs book, and I whole heartedly recommended it. He talks about a lot of his endeavors into technology and how it's made.

Great episode! I could really use one of these myself. Just a little suggestion: when in front of linux terminal, try to use "tab" as your 3rd/4th key in terms you type and the arrows/home/end to navigate through typed history. Instead of "sudo !!" you can hit up-home and type "sudo " (or fix a typo).

so I have a couple qi chargers, and I have a couple battery powerbanks, what would it need to combine the 2? so I can charge it without over charging, charge it and use it at the same time, or just use the battery inside to qi charge.

So it going to be a laptop with mechanical keyboard? Having a mechanical keyboard could make me interested in this project.

How powerful is this laptop going to be? Is it on par with a entry level Chromebook or more powerful?
