The biggest release on Disney+ this year was Descendants: Rise of Red. It is performing the way they thought the Taylor Swift concert movie would perform.

I think a lot of people are forgetting that we have had some successful Star Wars shows like Ahsoka, Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, bad batch, Clone wars and Tales of the Jedi. I guess some people are splited between some of the shows I mentions including the movies. Lets not get too negative about this and not forget that Star Wars has had some success that we should be grateful for. I’m sure right now they are really really trying to fix things and make Star Wars feel like Star Wars and successful.

I think these shows have two major issues. 1) they’re telling one story over a 1.5 month period (as opposed to the movies that did it in a two hour movie) and 2) unlike the movies, they don’t have good rewatch ability. It’s a one and done

This is the issue with having a series flop in a massive universe like Star Wars. Now there are a bunch of loose ends that will either never be resolved, or they will in a comic or novel. They need to structure these series as self contained Seasons moving forward, because there is no guarantee that they will be renewed. We were lucky that Disney decided to go ahead with Andor Season 2, despite the fact that Season 1 underperformed.

I don’t watch the Star Wars shows but I’m actually not surprised The Acolyte was canceled. I’m hearing fans didn’t like it.

I watched all episodes to give it a chance.

I was actually reading an article a couple of days ago say if that the coming Mufasa prequel movie is successful enough, it’ll pave the way for more prequels and sequels set in the lion king series. It definitely makes sense if that’s the case but it doesn’t do that well then Disney will probably leave the franchise alone for about 10 years before coming back to it at all. That’s just how I see it now anyway.

I’m not surprised about the acolyte being cancelled at all! It was a very frustrating show overall and it was often very confusing as well. A friend of mine would’ve like a second season just to see more of Darth Plagueis but sadly that won’t happen now. You’re better off reading the Darth Plagueis written by James Luceno. Good read that one.

You know I’m kind of surprised you haven’t talked about Temuera Morrison not coming back to play Boba Fett anytime soon at all. It really is a shame since the book of boba fett didn’t do that well. I keep telling people this. The first 2 episodes were truly amazing I think, but went very downhill after that! I couldn’t believe it. Once the mandalorian came back into it, alongside Grogu, Luke and Ahsoka, it basically became season 2.5 of that show you know?

I really can’t wait for Andor season 2. I enjoyed season 1 despite its slow pacing. The prison arc was my favourite of it all.

So Roger, I just want to make sure again because I’m still kind of confused. So Agatha all along is the only live-action marvel series set to come out this year on Disney+ in 2024 is that right? I’m guessing there won’t be any others at this point since we’re getting close to the end of the year now. Besides X-Men ‘97 which was animated of course.

😂😂😂
I bet they still don’t take this failure and try to improve on future projects though. Star Wars feels like it has no structure anymore

The mandalorian is still going to be coming back for a fourth season right? I assume it’ll be after the mandalorian and gorgu movie in 2026. Unless it’s being converted into the aforementioned movie perhaps?

I love Star Wars and hated this show. I am glad it’s not coming back. What a waste of time.

Get the people that created the old republic, to create a series…

Going forward, Lucasfilm should confirm at least two seasons before the first even airs. That way, fans will have hope to stick with the show, whether it's good or bad, and see if it improves in season 2.

So no question of the day then today at all? I kind of can’t say I’m surprised at all.

I personally think the show was solid, with some fair hiccups at the beginning. But compared to what we got before and now, It felt like Leslie was really trying to expand on the lore and this side of the timeline and that she really loved and cared for the franchise. There was no alienating OG fans. If anything, this was calling to them as it harkened back to the prequel eras which are now beloved by many. I could tell when seeing this everyone was giving it their all and while it was rough in some places, it definitely felt like they couldve improved in some cases. Honestly also it just sounds like to me you are agreeing with the grifters who were bashing on this show while not saying on camera. If thats the case, then you might lose a sub. Hope you can clear that up.

With that said however, I do see why this wasn’t renewed. The show was expensive and while it does have some fans behind it who did enjoy it, the more I felt it wouldn;t even survive a season 2 even if it was greenlit. So much hate and anger (no pun intended) for this that it would probably do more harm than good to the show and people behind it. Not to mention probably being asked by Disney to tone down some elements to please that toxic side, which would not boad well for those who enjoyed it and Leslie. It really just feels like a no win situation when it comes to The Acolyte. I still enjoyed and I still think Lucasfilm shouldn’t give up with tackling new eras and stories beyond TSS but maybe this wasnt the show to do it. I do hope they can continue it in some fashion tho. Here’s hoping.

And theres nothing wrong with exploring different eras. Its what people want. we dont wanna be in TSS anymore. We wanna see different parts of this galaxy in different times. Its one of the reasons why people were excited for Acolyte when it was first announced 4 years ago. Whats wrong with pushing boundraries in SW? Its a galaxy far far away, theres so much opportunities to tell different stories here.

I like the fight scene in the episode. It made me laugh.😅

I did think the series was a good idea and it has good episodes!

But the Jedi was too weak in their skills and knowledge of the force was insufficient.

Maybe they could make Kelnacca protect his family or a relative of Chew….

Indra should not be defeated, she should be with Sol, to defeat the lost apprentice and Mei and her Sister saved and put on the right path and darth plagueis, should come to rescue Qimir, to be one of his first apprentices..

Vernestra, should be defeated and demoted to Padiwan.

Jenki lon, should of been saved

Yoda was at the end and should have been given a bigger part to play in the last few episodes, maybe he could sense Darth Stdious master and duel him.
