"No one ever thought of you in the first place"
That's heavy
And words to live by.

This is actually the lesson I've learned and lived. I made every mistake there is in my 20's, my GF needed to pay my bills while I was trying all kinds of stupid things. Now I'm 32 and I'm on the point where I can provide for my family, my GF doesn't have to work anymore (she wants to because she really loves her job), I can give my daughter a very nice headstart financially, coming from poverty and an abusive household I really worked my a*s off, so for anyone reading this, everything will be fine, just don't give up. Ever.

That's some hell of an advice coming from a mom of that generation. Solid Gold

My father died recently he was 69. And I realized besides how much he cared about other people so few people cared about him. You don't need more in life but a few friends and family. God bless you father, we miss you

51 here, best shape of my life been having fun since high school, the key is having just enough money to enjoy life and not worry in people’s opinions.

"No one ever thought about you in the first place". I've learned that in my late 20s early 30s. Then you learn to love simplicity.

I’ve been telling my children that last last part since they were little. Mostly, other people aren’t thinking about you. They’re thinking about themselves! It’s helped them.

Everything he said is so damn true, try everything in your 20s and then you figure out what you're about in your 30s and you make your money in your 40s, and your 30s as well. By your '50s you still make money but you're working smart. You really care what other people think when you're younger and by 50 you not only don't care if someone likes you, you almost invited because it's another person you don't have to tend to. I just wish I had that liberation younger in life, I spent so much time caring what people thought, putting time into people and they were just huge wastes of time. When you don't care it's just so beautiful because you can say whatever you want and you don't mind if you lose that person. FREEDOM.

If you have someone that thinks of you in this life, you've already won. Call your parents, your loved ones... <3

Life is a lesson, you learn it when it’s through.

My mom said something similar. “Honey do what you want, but don’t ask us to help. We’re broke.”

This brought so much comfort to my mind, I always am telling myself to never care what others think about me but have to fight the urge to care. It’s good to hear it from time to time.
