Research has shown that the deficit model for science communication is wrong: scientists explaining facts to the public is insufficient for securing greater public interest in and knowledge about science. In this talk, Angela Potochnik explains how the University of Cincinnati Center for Public Engagement with Science takes a participant-centered, interdisciplinary, and collaborative approach to public engagement with science, resulting in deeper collaboration across academic disciplines and with local stakeholders.

From the Workshop on Public Engagement with Science & Philosophy of Science (April-May 2021), hosted by the University of Cincinnati Center for Public Engagement with Science.
