This video is the 1st of a 4-part set of videos from a Masters' level lecture that I did on the 'Genetics of Alzheimer's & Parkinson's Disease'

The whole approximately two-hour lecture covers the genetics and molecular biology of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, but the first two videos are on Alzheimer's and the second two are on Parkinson's. It is meant to be one lecture, but the two Alzheimer's videos are mostly independent of the two Parkinson's videos.

You will have an easier time understanding these videos if you have a biology background, particularly some genetics - also the other lectures before this one covered the other aspects of the disorders, so I assume the students already knew that as well.

The lecture was part of my teaching at Teesside University and for the module (course) 'The Pathobiology of Neurological Diseases'.
This was done during the COVID-19 pandemic (April 2021) when our teaching was almost exclusively online, so I was recording the lecture from home.
