I've been switching to Rangefinders from SLRs recently and want you to know about the differences between them. They both have their advantages and disadvantages which we'll explore.

I personally like SLR's mainly because focusing is easier for me. I know theres this stigma in pro photographers using rangefinders and all the good photographers use rangefinders but hell to that! Use whatever you like to use, shooting an SLR or a rangefinder won't make a photo any better. Love the video man! Keep up the great content!

If you can find one, get a Ricoh Five One Nine..  Off the wall funky with the bottom film advance, but an excellent lens--sharp with great contrast.  I'm an SLR person (walked away from Leica rangefinders decades ago, but wish I'd kept the M4),   but the Ricoh has become a favorite carry camera.  Use a lens hood as with most cameras, flare can be a problem.  And you will love the way it focuses!  For quiet, my first edition Konica Hexar in quiet mode blows away anything else I've tried, including the M4.   Great vid, sir, as always!

I look forward to the rangefinder price point video. I've always wanted to buy one, but don't want to shell out for a Leica. As always, dance moves were on point.

I have an om1 and regularly shoot at about 1/8th to 1/15th with no problem.

it's all about the fixed lens rangefinder with leaf shutter!

Does your rangefinder have a leaf shutter or a curtain shutter? That one you fired off was pretty loud. I prefer leaf shutters which are almost silent, I also think range finders offer faster focusing (if the all glass is clean and they haven't gone out of adjustment). The Yashica Electro 35 offers a good selection of features with the bonus of a super quiet leaf shutter. Keep working on that victory dance!

i think the Rangefinder is quieter than the SLRs. Because there is no flapping mirror mechanism, so it' s just the sound of the shutter that opens and closes. l
