Tbh, he liked his daughter even more because she shared the colour blindness problem with him. He wanted Ye Sol because she shares the only problem that personally gave him the biggest insecurity his whole life.
In the long run, he wouldn't be a good father. He would continue bringing ladies to sleep with in the house or perhaps cheat if he had a wife, which would destroy that poor girl's entire childhood.

Admittedly, this time Jae Jun acted to protect his daughter. Probably the only decent motivation for acting violently that he ever had in his entire disgusting existence. This was the exception.

Jae Jun never thought about protecting those girls he terrorized and assaulted when he was in high school. They were someone's daughters too. Yes, it was alarming that the teacher took those photos, and he ABSOLUTELY needed to be stopped. Too bad no one stopped Jae Jun and the rest of the psychotic trash from torturing those girls when they were in high school.

Yes, that scene was very satisfying. The one person in the entire world that he cared about got to see him for the savage, violent animal lacking self-control that he is. Those punches bruised both the pedophile teacher and his sweet little daughter. Jae Jun was so ignorant - he could have engineered it so that no one was around, or even kidnapped the guy, beaten the heck out of him, and no witnesses. Jae Jun screwed himself over. Poetic justice.

The adoptive father handled it correctly; punches stop the Pedo guy for a few days; jail, however, lasts longer AND the record lasts forever. ... Also, with a little luck (or stratigic information leak) the inmates will beat the stuffing out of Pedo guy every chance they get. For free, even. 😊
