Some writers are shit and with Deadpool they often get him all wrong. He doesn't need to break the 4th wall at all just be kinda meta about things and bring awareness to things others wouldn't think of. However there are plenty of instances where Deadpool just straight up warps reality in his dimension and out. He has killed not only the entire marvel universe more than once but also the writers. His powers are not consistent because lazy writing by some new or useless writers.
